Background and History

You've probably heard of dracula, and other vampires like that. Cant go near garlic, or crosses, get burned by holy water, stake through the heart, sleeps in coffins, maybe you've even heard of death by silver bullets. Well, the vampires in my  books are nothing like that. Sure some are, but there is more than one breed of vampire, There are those ones that like Dracula, cant go near garlic, crosses, holy water... There are also those that can change to another creature (were-animals), then there are those that make up the heart of the book. These are a fairly new species of vampire that have been changed to serve the Queen of Shadows.

These vampies can go in the sun, they sleep at night, they dont have fangs, instead they use nails which grow and shrink according to hunger. Also, this particular family (created by same person or by someone who was created by that person) has other powers as well. Anica can visit the past, present, and future, basically she has visions, Kylia can become invisible, Jake can read minds, and Kara and Liz can mind connect, (talk to people in their minds).

The wierdest thing about this breed is their eyes. The vampires eyes change color according to certian moods, Anger and fear. these emotions are strong enough to in a sence, peel away the carefull humaness that remains, showing the true monster. Anger causes the eyes to lighten untill they are almost purewhite. and with fear eyes become purple.

The realmesses were the protectors and keepers of the realms before two of their very own rebelled killing 'royalty' of the realmesses, along with themselves, thus bringing the Queen of Shadows (aka dark queen) into power. The realmesses were very special people who were born with the power and destiny to enter the realms and control its power keeping the peace. Because there were so many of them the power was divided evenly among them making sure that no person was given to much power and rebelled. then the Queen of shadows met Liz and Kara. Kara was normal, completely ok with living the life of a powerful Realmess Princess (princess is a title for being part of the realmess royaly) but her best friend who had a small amount of power was not satified with this, she became power hungry and convinced kara to join her in destroying the ways of the realmesses. Along with seperating the power and keeping the peace it was the realmesses job to help spirits cross into the afterlife before becoming corrupeted and joining the long forgotten (people who have died in the realms).

Servals, are the mist keepers of the realms meaning they control the elements and serve the realmesses. Servals are small mist-like creatures, they are like snakes that fly around serving their masters. Part of being a realmess is being able to talk to these strange creatures, servals speak a language called slavres. Another important thing about servals is their ability to change color according to their masters power level, always starting out clear and changing as the realmess becomes more powerfull. A soul keeper is a silver form of a serval that has been created by the queen of shadows, these servals collect souls that can then be used to create more soul keepers, Soul keepers can also mind connect.

A death flyer is another creature of the realms bred by the Queen of Shadows, only this breed rebeled against her and gained their freedom. After regaining freedom the Queen of Shadows had them removed from the realms and released in the real world. This is where the unicorns and pegasus origionally came from, seing as a death flyer is a horse with long dragon-like wings, a horn, and spikes surrounding their hooves. Eventually the breed blended in becomeing real horses, only changing back to their origional form in the realms. oh and they can also communicate with realmesses.

Filenze is another odd creature of the realms, they live in the forests in the realms in large clans. Filenze are like centures except that they have a lion like mane, a fox like tail, and are light siver colored, often glowing lights in the darkness of the forest, they are invisible to their enemy and can flash brightly causing that enemy seizures and eventually death. They are best friends with the Death flyers and helped with the rebellion(on other page)
